Kaptain (Stephen Kaplan) is a Denver-based electronic music producer who bridges the gap between dancefloor energy and live musicianship. Blending electronic production with bass music, psychedelic rock, and funk influences, he crafts beat-driven dance music that incorporates live guitar, keyboards, analog synthesizers, and vinyl samples.

His dynamic live performances combine keyboard and synthesizer work with DJ sets, often featuring live guitar collaboration. Kaptain has supported notable acts including Manic Focus, Late Night Radio, Break Science, Maddy O'Neill, and Marvel Years, with festival appearances at Sonic Bloom and Gem & Jam.

In addition to Kaptain’s extensive catalog of original music, he has produced remixes for Greek psychedelic rock band Naxatras and collaborated with artists like Phyphr and Vincent Antone. His work has been featured in audio-visual projects by Greg Ellis (The Lazer Shark), the lighting director behind Pretty Lights.
